Overview

Thinking Culture presents a screening of Gaza: Doctors Under Attack (Basement Films/C4 Production), followed by a panel discussion.

Join us for a special screening of the extraordinary film Gaza: Doctors Under Attack (Basement Films/C4 Production), described by Stewart Heritage in The Guardian as a ‘crucial film…that the world needs to see’. The screening will be followed by a discussion between Ben de Pear, the film’s producer, and Professor Tahseen Qureshi, a Colorectal Surgeon who has worked in Palestine. They will be joined by Gerry O’Hare and Dr Abdulla Al Hasso, both of whom have served as volunteers for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The discussion will explore the development and commissioning of the documentary, challenges of documentary making in Palestine, responsibility of ensuring safety of Gaza film crew and Health Care Participants, and editorial issues and the decision by BBC to withdraw from broadcasting the film

The event is supported by the Scottish Palestine Health Partnership and Thinking Culture at the University of Glasgow.
